They told me to insert a jumper on their card at two locations that I disremember. It seems as though the card had a problem, not the software. AE's software could not fix the hassle, it was a hardware mod. (Their card= Prac. Per.) This was done and the problem went away. No more lost chrs. The jumping cursor in vt-100 mode seems more like a problem on the main frame than Kermit or your hardware. Check out the set terminal params on the Main Frame and insure that the system is expecting what you are emulating. The reply to set nulls at the end of a line is on the order of top line fixes for dropped chrs. This brings up a point that I feel should be mentioned. When operating a modem from a remote, there are ALOT of things to take into account. 1. The modem itself, (dip switches and initiation strings etc) 2. The cable from the interface to the modem. (I have had to make a null modem on the Super Serial card jumper block for some software/hardware.) 3. The Serial card. (From minor mods like dip switches to major ones like electronic mods to the cards) 4. Telcom software menu mods as well as install mods by running the "wrong" hardware in the install sequence. In essence, the fixes for problems are not allways in the telcom software. I would exhaust the options for mods at the receiver and then my other hard learned possibilities. There are too many combinations for any ONE person to remember. This is why THIS communication service is sooooo necessary. gzt.eww@oz.ai.mit.edu@xx.lcs.mit.edu.arpa -------
