Hi. Here is another fire-sale idiot ready to make another purchase. Does anyone have advice on 3B1 printers? In particular I have been told there is a sturdy Panasonic 24 pin printer that goes for around $600.00. If such a printer can do TeX and is known to troff or nroff and lpr won't croak, etc. etc. then I think it might fit my needs. $600.00 is really more than I want to pay, but I've heard such wonderful things... A laser printer seems out of the question since the on-going maintenance costs (and initial price) are beyond a "fire-sale" user's pocket book. Obviously I don't know half of what I need to know to make a decision. Please respond directly to me and I'll try to summarize the information for others (I can't believe I'm the only fire-sale idiot that couldn't come up with initial money for a printer). Thanks.
