It was OK, but the modem had a hard time understanding the AT commands, because the 64 can only just barely run 2400. If I remember right, Comm Term 3++ was the best at 2400. One way to solve the modems problem of not getting the commands is to send the dial command at 1200, then hit a key to interrupt the dialing. Then switch to 2400, and hit A/ until the modem recognizes it, and starts dialing. This worked on the Courier 2400, but won't work on a Hayes 2400 it stays at 1200, until it gets an AT at 2400.
