Lines: 17 I needed to recover some space on my hard disk and a good candidate was the gaggle of batch files to change into a particular directory. For each file of 20 - 50 bytes I was eating an allocation unit of 2048 bytes. I have written a small C program to read a data file and match a mnemonic passed on the command line with a directory entry in the file. In this manner, with only two files, the program and its data, I can accomplish the same thing as 40 batch files. If anyone is interested in this program, let me know and I will E-mail directly. If lots of interest, I will post. Dion Hollenbeck (619) 455-5590 x2814 Megatek Corporation, 9645 Scranton Road, San Diego, CA 92121 ames!scubed! {sdcsvax,hplabs}!hp-sdd!megatek!hollen sdcsvax!esosun!
