Along a similar vein, does anyone have a unix-compatible atob/btoa?
It sure sounds like it would be trivial to write, once you learn what
the encoding algorithm is.

It would sure make for faster file transfers than uuencode/decode for 
those of us who have to live with seven-bit data transmission lines...
