Lines: 27 Keywords: Hardware Compatibility Microport guru's! I'm putting together a 80286 system to run Microport System V software. Before I do, I would like to find out if anyone has successfully done so with the following configuration of hardware? Base hardware: NEC APC IV PowerMate I with 640k at 8 MHz NEC MultiSync Color Monitor 'Vega Deluxe' Video Card NEC 40-MB Hard Disk NEC 1.2-MB Floppy Drive Configurable hardware: Memory Expansion Board with 2-3 MB (AST Research - RAMvantage!) The Base hardware I already own, but the type of Memory board I purchase is still an option. Is there a Memory board that will allow me to run Microport and MS-DOS separately, and let MS-DOS use the extra memory? If not, can I still run MS-DOS with the 640k that came with my machine? Any comments and idea's are greatly appreciated. -- Steve Montague **** Another Day to Excell! **** ISC Systems Corporation UCCP: stevem@iscuva.ISC.COM East 22425 Appleway (uunet!iscuva!stevem) Spokane, WA. 99019 Phone: +1 509 927-5600 x5025
