Most of the answeres applicable to be ( that is on AIX) seem to be: I already have the software if I am using the IBM base band adapter card. However I have a 3COM card. It is an ethernet card made by 3COM corporation for PCs. It works just fine on XT's or AT's. I do not have a base band adapter card, at least not yet. Hence need for software to run networking on this 3COM beast. Another Query: AIX comes with a program ate (async terminal adapter) that uses /dev/tty0 (or any tty line) to talk to a modem or a any asynch host. I have connected an AT serial/parallel card as /dev/tty0 and am using to connect to a department host through a RS232 line. However when ate is invoked from an X-Window window, it hangs. I am running AIX 2.1.2 and it does not seem to have tip or cu. has any one solved the problem of running a terminal emulator on a serial line from X-Windows. Thanks devendra
