I will assume you received the proper authorization to post it to the Net. I may or may not add GIF support to the stuff I'm working on. It seems to me that CIS is being too self serving in this case. If they wanted to make the text of this definition redistributable even *without* allowing it to be fully public domain, they could easily have said so. It's clear they *don't* want this to be the case. I dunno. Maybe I'll throw in IFF ILBM. It sounds about as easy/difficult, and is about as publicly usable. The format doesn't look good for animation which is currently my main concern anyway, so I'll continue work on "GF9" for the time being and think over the situation some more.
