   i wonder if there is a device which can read ordinary documents
such as printed books, computer output, etc., and convert them to
character-string files, not bit-mapped images.  optical character
reader is not sufficient since characters must be coded in a special
way so that OCR can recognize.  i am interested in products running on
macintosh or any other machine.

   i would like to know the brand name, address, price, and features.
