This involved replacing the Appletalk Link Access Protocol with an asynchonous protocol to handle the link level. As suggested in the article, a very useful extension on this project would be a "bridge" to route packets between a machine on the other end of the RS-232 and the rest of an Appletalk network. I would like to know what others have attempted in the way of using a Mac' as such a router.
