The default LDEF (LDEF 0) will only display text lists. If you want to display other things, or even more nicely formatted text, you have to write your own LDEF. Read the section on this in IM4. It's painless: you have only four messages to interpret (init, draw, invert and close), and you can write a duplicate of LDEF 0 in next to no time. The only thing you may have to be careful of if you're displaying big PICTs is that there is an overall 32K limit on the amount of data stored in the data handle of any given list. You can of course get around this by storing the resource # of the PICT or a handle to it instead of the actual data. Now, a related question: Why, when you select a cell in a two- dimensional list, does the cell below it occasionally flash? Is there an easy fix? Am I doing something wrong?
