Any HD20 Test wizards out there?

So I run HD20 Test, do a ctrl-d to get to the secret screen of fun
things to do, run the test, and always get these two lines in the
error log:

ChkSlfTst Err: Unable to set recovery Result: CommErr: 28000000 Blk: 0
Failed[5] xfers = 0 soft = 0 hard = 0

Can anyone tell me what this means, or might mean, and what I can/
should do about it?
