Red Ryder saves text in TEXT files which can be read from within MS-Works. (You'll want to select the "Strip out control characters" feature in the TEXT file transfer preference menu, in order to remove the LF characters.) I'm not sure what the creator type for Works is, but you should be able to read any text-only file...the only reason for changing the creator type would be to make it possible to launch Works with a particular folder within the Finder. The same can be achieved by selecting the file, shift-selecting the application and double-clicking (provided that the application and file are in the same folder).
