Butthead Computing Companies Lines: 20 Greetings: I figured I'd try using the drive from an old (not too old) external drive as a second floppy in my two. So, I got a bracket from an SE, a cable from a 128, and took popped it in all cozy and nice. One problem: it doesn't work. When fed a nice, blank, initialized disk, it says it's unreadable and offers to initialize it. When I click two-sided, it tries for two seconds and says "Initialization failed." Suspecting the drive, I replaced it with another with the same results. I vaguely recall someone saying something about using too long a cable being a problem, but mine's about as short as it could be. The drives work fine as externals on an SE but no go on the II. Any ideas??? advTHANKSance. -- Maurice Weitman ..!{dual,hplabs,lll-crg,ptsfa,glacier}!well!mo | <- this is not a pipe POBox 10019 Berkeley, CA 94709 (415)549-0280 Quote: "If we're not listening, we'd have to be pretty blind."
