System: Mac + (about 1 yr old), 1 meg Jasmine Direct Drive 20 (6 months old-I love it) ImageWriter II Sys 4.1, Finder 5.5, etc. Symptoms: If the hard drive is connected and turned on, the Mac will boot off of it instead of off a floppy in the internal drive, even if the floppy was in the drive when the mac was turned on. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the floppy drive, since it reads and writes to disks ok, and will boot off of a floppy (the same one it wouldn't boot off of with the hard drive on) if the hard drive is left off. I do know that everything worked normally about a month ago, which was the last time that I tried to boot off a floppy. I noticed this behavior when I was trying out a copy of the new system (4.2,6.0) that I had obtained. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Thanks in advance Dave Fritzinger allegra!phri!fritz PHRI 455 1st Ave, NY, NY 10016
