Lines: 15 Keywords: binhex Summary: What's the difference? I've seen several messages asking about BinHex 4.0 and asking where to get it. I must be missing the replies, and I have no idea where to get BinHex 4.0. Is this an application on the Mac, or a UNIX implementation? I have BinHex 5.0, which has been out since 1985. I don't recall ever seeing a version 4.0. Version 5.0 has been working just fine for converting the files on the Net to binary on the Mac, but it's output looks quite different when converting a file to hex. I assume we shouldn't be using version 5.0 on the Net? Exactly _what_ should we be using, and where can we get it? What are the differences between version 4.0 and 5.0? Does anyone know of a UNIX implementation? With the large number of questions asked about these (and related) topics, is there a newsgroup or other area where we can stick some files to answer all these questions? Or am I _way_ out in left field here? -James L. Paul
