Maybe you can find an ex-student who will sell you his/hers? You want at least 1 Meg of memory + more than 1 disk drive. And you'll eventually want a hard disk (something like 70% of Mac owners have them). This is probably safer than going with the Magic Sac. Your machine will run the most Mac Software. You will not have to upgrade your Magic Sac (how?) when Apple upgrades the ROMS (periodically...) However, if you're going to be running UNIX mostly, it's probably hopeless to buy anything less than a Mac II for your home....
