Every couple of months someone complains about their Mac becoming obsolete only a {year|coupla months|week} after they bought it. Then masses of other people jump on the original poster's neck, saying things like "Don't complain; you {had the use of it for a while|can still run old software|can upgrade fairly cheaply|have to pay to stay on top of the technology}."
