The PC-File data file is a simple byte stream where each block of 407 characters is a record. There are no delimiters between records or fields although each field is of a fixed length. To do this, I wrote a script which opens the file and reads 407 characters. I extract each individual field, trim trailing spaces, make a new card, fill in the fields and repeat until the file is completely read. After adding about 2500 records, I get the message "Unexpected error 1777 - Sorry". After clicking Sorry, HyperCard just quits. I then open the stack and it works until I try to compress it, then I get the same error again. Has anyone else seen this? What is error 1777? Have I reached a limit on the number of cards in a stack? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In Real Life: Michael Nowak | Cogito Via Internet: mike@ronin.cc.umich.edu | Ergo Via UUCP: uunet!umix!ronin.cc.umich.edu!mike | Zoom!
