This might be a bit expensive as terminals go, but Sun 3's have a true
meta-key. I was pleasantly suprised to see that the 'alt' key (I think
thats what it was labelled) turned on the meta (aka parity) bit of a
char. They also map Control-spacebar to send ^@ like any civilized
terminal.  (Unlike this cretinous Wyse-99 which tries to get you to
break your fingers by typing control-shift-2.)
