I'm new to the world of nroff macro writing and I would like to whip
up a little macro to use in a MM document.  Basically, I'm trying to
force a string of text and a page number into the table of contents of
a MM document.  I can't use the ".H" macros because I don's want the
string to appear as a header.  I've looked at the nroff "code" for the
".H" macro and the ".TC" macro but I can't figure out which parts
control the formation of the table of contents.  (Remember, I'm new at
this.)  Can someone out there give me some pointers?

The .H macro call .)E to insert an entry into the table of contents.
