I sent a message to Sun last week asking what the status of 1.1 was, and
when it would be released.  I got a reply from Steve Evans
(sevans@Sun.COM)

In his reply he said (double indents are from my query, single is his
reply):


		I'm interested in the 1.1 release of NeWS, which was described
		recently in NeWS-makers.  When is it expected to be released?
	
	1/18/88.

	We are well into beta now and getting good feedback.  [...]  Please
	contact your sales rep in the beginning of January so that you
	can place your order early.
