You have my vote to eliminate special processing of ":". We would like a way to specify "don't care" about the state of individual modifiers in initiating a passive grab. Great idea, I sure wish you had had it about six months ago. In order to correctly implement "Mac-style" menu bars, we need a way of going into synchronous mode on enter or exit window. Extension proposals welcome. we don't want or need the map to generate expose events. Can't you simply deselect Exposure, MapWindow, then reselect Exposure?
