I just want to say that I didn't mean to imply that U.C. San Diego
(from which I posted the article) is one of these universities with
broken mailers.  I've only been here for about a week now, but I
haven't seen anything to make me believe that UCSD is an offender
in this area (my university experience has mostly involved smaller
schools with much worse-organized computer centers).

I apologize to anyone I may have offended by my remarks (which in
other respects I still stand by).
