In my 28 years of college-level teaching, I've come to learn a simple fact: "teaching" (i.e., presentation) doesn't insure learning. While there are many students at top institutions (here we go again) who do not need formal classroom sessions in order to learn, the other 99% of college students do. Knowing how to help students learn is far more important that being a subject matter expert. -- Peter Holsberg UUCP: {rutgers!}princeton!mccc!pjh Technology Division CompuServe: 70240,334 Mercer College GEnie: PJHOLSBERG Trenton, NJ 08690 Voice: 1-609-586-4800
