Lines: 31 I've just started playing with GNU Emacs v18.49.8 under X v10r4 (?) under SunOS 3.2 and 4.2 BSD Unix, and could use some help. I would like to know: a) What kind of neat things are you people doing, in general? I'm looking for interesting/useful functions, hints on usage and setting defaults, etc. b) What values are defined for the variable x-switches? I can't seem to get my settings to take effect. c) What values are defined for emacs in .Xdefaults? Are there any other environment variables to worry about besides TERM and DISPLAY? d) If I've missed anything, please tell me about that too. But a) is pretty catch-all... I hopefully anticipate a fairly response, and will post a summary accordingly when the furor dies down. Regards, Silver. "It takes a big man to honestly admit he's big."
