Yes virtual destructors are very nice.
Yes they are part of the language (always were).

Sorry for forgetting to mention them explicitly.

I do mention them in my paper
	``The Evolution of C++: 1985-1987''
for the USENIX C++ ``workshop'' in Santa Fe.
The ``proceedings from that will be interesting reading.
