I can personally vouch for this one, except it didn't destroy what you were
doing.  It just wouldn't let you do anything else until you "gave it" a
cookie.  Then it would go away for a few minutes until it got hungry again.
We had this running at CMU on the 20's when I was an undergrad.

Kind of cute really.
