An eight bit unit with multiple color maps would also be acceptable. The company should have, or be working on, a X.V11 or a NeWS/X.V11 driver. The frame buffer doesn't need to have a lot of fancy graphics hardware (a blitter would be nice though). Does anyone know of such a beast? My preliminary chasing about hasn't flushed anything that matches the above description. Most of the systems I found were either simple eight bit buffers, simple 24 bit buffers (with separate red, green, and blue maps), or fancy image processing boxes. -- Jim Mayer Xerox Corporation, Webster Research Center -- James L.
