We just popped in a TOPS Repeater Thursday afternoon (12/17).  
Our entire network worked fine for about ten minutes, and 
then the fun started.
After the dust settled, we found a casualty.  The Kinetics Gateway
box could not cope with the new and improved signal.  We are going
to send the K-box back for a post-mortem, and are hopeful that
they can fix it (we can make him stronger, faster....).  If anyone
is aware of problems using a Kinetics box /repeater on the same
LAN, now is your chance to become my personal hero.  If the
solution is one of turning on devices in a certain sequence, by all
means tell me.  If it is an incompatibility problem, tell me anyway
(sigh).  At any rate, the local (Appletalk) network works fine.
All nodes are seen from end to end (1500-1700 ft.), and everyone
can see the LaserWriter (the chief beef!!).  Before I heartily
endorse this product, I must find out more about the K-box's
status.  Any Kinetics People out there??  TOPS folks??
There are a BUNCH of people waiting for the answer (they are 
hoping for good news).
