I think I understand the 3-4 second pause at the TAC. TAC buffers are only 64 characters in size. (Per port) I'm not sure what window they advertise though, but 64*3 = 192 does sound suspicious. Your other problem sounds interesting, but you need to supply a bit more detailed info about it. Like, does the transfer hang up regardless of the direction? Is there a gateway or two involved?
