Europeans marvel at what lousy drivers Americans are; why should we fly any better ? And American highways can't support Autobahn / Autostrada speeds, given how the average American maintains his/her car .. common sense says PUL's would get better maintenance than cars do now, but since when did common sense count for anything in this country ? This doesn't mean I'm not all for the idea, though.
