In itself, it is pretty inoffensive. I think the problem with the term is that a lot of people, especially non-SF fans, have a tendacy to put science fiction and fantasy, along with other strange writings, into the genere of Sci- Fi, even though they are different types of fictions. I personally prefer the term SF, simply because it is a more direct, shorter abbreviation of Science Fiction. It also does help make it clearer to someone that the book I am telling them about does not fall into the "Battle Star Galactica Adventure #23" catagorey... ------
