Hi,

We're getting some A2000's at work instead of some PC's. I've already
got an A1000 at home with a 20MB hd (and 2mb xtra memory that'll
be in Aaaannny daaaaay noooow i'm told), that I use to work from
home.

What I'd like to know is if anyone is using an A2000 as a
simple workstation and how you've got it set up.

So far, each is getting a bridge card, probably a hard disk and
some more memory.  Since one of them is going to replace my tty, I'd
like to get some suggestions on how to set it up.  I don't/won't 
need PC-compatiblitly, just the ablility to use the pc slots.

The way I'd like to set it up is as follows:

o  9600 baud line into the system for connection to our port selector, 
   running vt100.  (or some something similar)
   
o  Use the amiga local to do memo's and things that I don't need any 
   outside system for.
  
o  Have some way (fast as possible) to xfer data to/from a host, one  
   way I can see for doing this is to hook up a second line 
   (9600) to a second serial port (on the pc side via a serial card) 
   to be used for uupc or kermit transfers back and
   fourth between a host and the amiga.  I've seen some interest lately
   in creating a multiple serial port driver, is there something available
   for a pc serial card?  I'd really like to have
   an ethernet card, but I'm not sure what that would entail as we
   run our own version of an RFS on our own port of Unix (Xelos).  It
   does support TCP/IP, but the remote file system stuff is not
   standard.
  
 Another question I have is how transparent to amigados is a drive 
 running on the pc side?  Could I just get a pc hard-disk/controller
 and use it exclusively from the amiga?  Or is it better to just get
 the A2090?
 
 Also, any suggestions on where/what 1-2MB memory expansions to get?
