I hardly think that the messages between George and myself can be construed as our beating each others heads in. George and I know each other and are actually quite friendly. I have no animosity towards Commodore and I'm sure the same can be said of Commodore towards ASDG - George was simply keeping me in line (hey, I'm human - I get carried away and hype our products a little too much every now and then :-) - 'nuff said. >There, the truth is out..... We obviously assumed that you would be purchasing a board from Micron as well. Sounds like a simple misunderstanding here - I don't think we specifically told you that you would be able to use *other* peoples products in the Micron chassis. You can still buy a Micron board at cost if you work for a dealer. >I called micron, asked them if the cage was FULLY Zorro II compatible, >and they said YES. If this is really the case, we will be in contact with Micron to correct the situation. Their boards are fully Zorro compliant, but the single slot adapter is not. They should not be telling their customers otherwise. >I then ordered one, assuming that by FULLY compatible, it would work >with something from the company that ORIGINATED the DA*N spec in the first >place. >I receive the cage, install it, and the memory and then procede to spend an >entire long lonely Christmas weekend tearing my HAIR out trying to figure >out why the cage won't work. >(INCLUDING tracing every single trace on the damn card cage motherboard) > >I now read commodore and asdg bashing each other and NOT helping me in >anyway like suggesting,, fix this or that.... instead i'm told to >buy this or that, and take this or that back. Sorry Jonathan - I'm afraid we offered whatever suggestions were possible, would you rather we hadn't? There just wasn't a "fix" that we could offer other than to recommend returns/changes. >I'm PISSED OFF... > >I bought the A2052 because even though I'd love to, I can't afford ASDG's >products.... everyone says they are the best, but I CAN'T afford $500 US >for a BARE BOARD. let alone whatever the price is for 16 1 megbit drams. > >Well ok thanks for nothing much everyone.
