I'm afraid that wasn't the problem -- the set of icons I hvave does have
one for "binary" that starts up basic.launcher.  (I disscovered my first
problem was that the set of system files I was using didn't have
basic.launcher in it; got one from another disk.)  When I click on the
binary (e.g., kermit) basic.lanuncher ghets launched and then I get the
error message "You cannot rurun this program directly."
