There is a set of programs available on the STORE!, based on some MS-DOS disk
read/write programs posted to the net a few months ago, which will let you do
this and also allow reading/writing binary files.  (Useful, since I have to
move files between the 3B1 and client machines by writing cpio archives onto
MS-DOS floppies....)  [BTW, this is in the public section, no "HDB-for-us-too-
bad-for-you" nonsense.]  The package name is, I believe, MTOOLS.
