The problem is that it was NOT cross posted, nor was a copy posted to
comp.binaries.ibm.pc!  At least not when it arrived at THIS site!

I think that the real problem is that some site has "alias"ed
comp.binaries.ibm.pc  to comp.sys.ibm.pc.  In other words, articles
from one group are getting moved over to the other group.  I'm not
sure, but I think this would cause the symptoms I have seen.  Anyway, I
think that it is this that is causing all the confusion.
