Hi,
  I just used Installer, because I had some of the same questions as you folks.
One very nice thing it did was preserve the currently installed DA's and fonts
I had installed in my old system.  One drawback is that I had to reconfigure
my control panel back to my preferences (I know, a small concern...).  So
other than the enormous amount of time saved by preserving all of my Fonts/DA's,
I really don't see much use for it...  If someone has more info, I would be
glad to hear it...
