We market the SysAdmin product which includes backup and restore menus.
While it does not presently format floppies when not already formatted, it
could be easily made to do that (either by us as an enhancement, or by you
-- will deliver enough source to allow customization of the menu system)...
But, you want recommendations for a "cartridge tape" backup system...  what
does formatting have to do with cartridge tapes?  

Also, what do you mean not abort when a bad verify is found?  What is a
"BAD verify" and HOW BAD is it?
