A few years ago I was working for a company which sold S-100 CompuPro systems (For their time they were good, solid iron - too bad they didn't bother to learn how to use dynamic memory - when did you last price 2 Mb of 100ns Static Ram? :-) Anyways, as I was saying, I dealt with Compupro stuff and was mildly amused by Jerry's fanaticism for their systems. Later, while at a trade show talking with some people near the CompuPro booth I mentioned that Jerry was rather opinionated about computers - at which point someone from the booth said "Yea, Jerry is an asshole, but he's *our* asshole!" I still chuckle whenever I read one of Jerry's computer "reviews" :-) Besides, everyone knows that he doesn't ever buy PC stuff - companies just send him software and hardware to demo in the hopes he will write about it in one of his columns!
