For instance, I login, fire up suntools, and open up a whole slew of shelltools and commandtools. Then, when I'm finished, I select 'Exit Suntools'. This drops me back out of suntools, but a 'w' or 'who' command indicates that several pseudo-ttys are still being used. A quick look in /etc/utmp verifies this. I can fix this by going to single-user and then back to multi-user, but this should not be necessary. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, been able to fix it? I know it's not a major problem. The improvements in 3.4 outweigh this disadvantage, but this bug makes administration difficult. Thanks in advance for all help. Evan Bauman Univ. of Notre Dame ..!iuvax!ndcheg!evan
