I just ran the checkgroups script, and noticed that in addition to generating the usual mail to "usenet", it also generated articles sent to the sites we're connected to locally (which I tracked down in the spool directory and killed off). The copy of the article in /usr/spool/news/control shows "Distribution: local", as in the original. I thought that would restrict the article/control-message to just this site. Is that interpretation of "local" wrong? Do I need to add a distribution option when the script is run through inews? (Ie. something in addition to the "-h" option?) dean -- dean@ndmath.UUCP Dean Alvis, Math. Dept., Univ. of Notre Dame, Notre Dame IN, 46556
