We managed to handle the storm as well, by far the biggest I have
seen. [No spool problems, only dialer overload..]  It seems that for
each new trick usenet sites can pull off, (faster modems, better
compression, better news software etc) the volume increases at an
appropriate rate. Sigh... If we only had a subscription service...
