Matt, you seem to have a slightly distorted view of the universe. It is well known that there are other sites that meet the "requirements" for being a backbone site. However, another requirement does exist. The site admin must have some desire to be on the backbone list. Doing so gains the person some level of notoriety and opens them up for strange email coming from obscure corners of the net. It also tends to add some amount to that person's work load. The admin must be interested in being so identified. I know that there are sites that have specifically asked *not* to be listed on the backbone map, even though they do help out in a number of ways. If you (or your site admin) thinks that oddjob "qualifies" and wants to help out, I'm sure that it can be arranged. By the way, how about a feed once you become a backbone site? :-) -- Ron Heiby, heiby@mcdchg.UUCP Moderator: comp.newprod & comp.unix "Intel architectures build character."
