Newsgroups: news.software.b Path: utzoo!lsuc!dave From: dave@lsuc.uucp (David Sherman) Subject: postnews stupidity about "sources" newsgroups Date: Mon, 11-Jan-88 15:14:53 EST Message-ID: <1988Jan11.151454.25282@lsuc.uucp> Organization: Law Society of Upper Canada, Toronto I just posted an article to {comp.mail.misc,comp.sources.d} about some hacks I have to BSD Mail. I used postnews, since it's faster than Pnews and I wasn't starting from inside rn. After I finished composing the article, postnews told me that my posting looked kind of small for source, and asked me to confirm the posting. I did. Then it spat the posting back at me because "source should not be cross-posted". I saved the article to a /tmp file and used Pnews. Perhaps postnews should be told that comp.sources.d is NOT for source postings? David Sherman -- { uunet!mnetor pyramid!utai decvax!utcsri ihnp4!utzoo } !lsuc!dave
