Lines: 14 Keywords: ozone Ozone is used in synthetic organic chemistry for a number of useful transformations. To generate ozone either in bulk or in situ, there are a number of available methods. Commercial ozonators are available that produce up to 4% ozone in air or 8% ozone in oxygen. Welsbach Corp. manufactures one of these beasts and puts out a 90+ page bulletin which describes reactions and techniques in much detail with refs. Org. Syn. II, 673 has a lab scale ozone prep.
