I set up a 29 gal. salt tank about four weeks ago and last week I bought a damsel to get the tank cycled. I noticed last Friday that my fish had what appeared to be a small white ball growing on it. I've kept tropical fish for a number of years and at first I thought it could be Ick however it appeared to be larger than what I`ve experienced before when dealing with Ick. So after giving it some thought and discussing the condition with a dealer I came to the conclusion that it could be some type of fungus and I started treating the tank with Neomycin. I noticed this morning that the Damsel was rubbing the spot against some coral and now I starting to wonder if this could be some type of parasite and if the Neomycin would be effective in dealing with it. If anyone has any suggestions I would be gratful. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!
