The '88 CRX is not that small and 'squishable' compared to cars today. What about the Chevy Sprint, or the Daihatsu Charade, or the Toyota Tercel, or the [zillions of other small micro cars deleted] When the CRX was first introduced, it was very small compared to other cars. But if you just take a look around, you notice cars getting smaller and lighter every day. In fact, the new CRX is quite stable against cross winds because it has an aerodynamic cross-section (egg-shaped). If you want to define something as squishable you should look at the solidity of the frame and not merely the size of the vehicle. A few years ago, GM decided to increase the fuel efficiency of their cars by decreasing the weight of the cars primarily by using the thinnest possible sheet metal which can possibly get the job done. Now these were squishable and they weren't small cars. The law also requires only 2.5 mph bumpers, but the CRX has 5mph bumpers (not that they're going to make all that much difference in a 55+ mph acciaccident).. I believe the CRX is a wonderful city car because of its small size. You can park it just about anywhere. I drive an '80 Audi 5000S and half the parking spaces I find are two feet too short for my car. Mike Yuen
