(for PCDOS). According to what I know, ( and was also posted here ), MNP protocol above level 2 ( level 3 and up ) uses synchronous mode ( no start/stop bits ) in order to gain a speed increase. I understand that it's not a problem to emulate MNP level 1,2 by software, but is that possible with levels 3 and up? Can you run a synchronous protocol over a normal rs232 hardware ( say, like the PC), that will be compatible with MNP? I don't remember the level mentioned in the ad, if it was mentioned at all.
